TECHNOLOGY COMMERCIALIZATION, ITS PROCESS AND SKILLS

I always like to know and understand on how an innovation or invention becomes products and services. So, I have a keen interest in commercialization of new technologies, knowledge and techniques.

LEAN OR AGILE APPROACH

I also have passion for lean or agile approach. So, I like to research on how this approach has been working and how it can be applied in the future.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION

I am an educator and a serial entrepreneur. So, I am highly interested in how young people could be trained and motivated to try entrepreneurship career.

BUSINESS INTERNATIONALIZATION

I do believe that business grows as it expands its market across boarders. Meanwhile, the process of internationalization is not that straightforward. So, I am interested in examining how the process could be understood and taught so that new businesses could grow and be a multinational (even, global) enterprises.

FAMILY-RUN BUSINESSES

I started my entrepreneurship career from our family business. I am also creating my family businesses. So, I am very much interested in how these businesses could be continued after departure of the business founders.

COMMERCIALIZATION SKILLS FOR SCIENCISTS AND ENGINEERS

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

Life Sciences and Engineering are fields of study that produce many inventions and innovations. Meanwhile, researchers and students of these fields need commercialization skill to achieve economic value of their works.

Therefore, this project explores how commercialization can be developed for students of the field. The project aims to provide pedagogy knowledge for curriculum development of the field. Findings of this project will contribute to pedagogy, curriculum development, entrepreneurship education and policy making.

LEAN ENTREPRENEURSHIP

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

Scientifically and practically, it has established that limited resources is a big constraint for people to engage in entrepreneurship. Meanwhile, many theories such Bricolage, Effectuation and Lean start-up have been showing that with little resources, people can try their entrepreneurship mission.

How this could be achieved? This is the main research question that the project aims to answer. It plans to use qualitative method. Its findings will shed more light about how lean approach can be used to motivate people (especially youth) to try entrepreneurship career.

COMMERCIALIZATION PROCESS OF HIGH TECHNOLOGIES

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

Commercialization is a transformation of new technology and knowledge to products and services. It is widely known for its crucial role in the society. Although, there are several studies on it, yet it is essential to have an in-depth knowledge on the commercialization process.

To achieve this, this project focuses on how high technologies are commercialized. The high technologies are characterized with sophisticated and complex technology, high level of research and development activities, resources-intensive, and high added values.

This project aims to theorize a new commercialization framework. Similarly, it aims to examine existing commercialization frameworks and how they were applied to modern high technologies. To achieve these goals, this project employed a case study approach. It has been using different research methods: interviews, survey, observations, and documentary.

ROLES OF ICT TOOLS ON INTERNATIONALIZATION OF SMEs FROM DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

The project aimed to (a) to present roles of ICT tools on Nigerian SMEs internationalization and (b) to present problems or challenges associating of ICT tools in internationalization of Nigerian SMEs. It employed mixed research methods: questionnaire-based surveys and qualitative interview.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

ATTITUTE OF AFRICAN TOWARDS ENTREPRENEURSHIP

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

The project investigated attitude of African youth towards entrepreneurship. It used mixed research methods – qualitative and quantitative methods. It accessed and collected data via social media such as Facebook (pages and groups), LinkedIn (groups), Twitter, and WhatsApp.

THE NEW TECHNOLOGY-BASED FIRMS

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

The project examined how a new technology-based could be developed. It used qualitative research method. It collected data through interview. Its study participants were entrepreneurs and business advisors.

FAMILY BUSINESS CONTINUITY

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

The project investigated how family business could be transferred from a generation to another. The project focused on continuity of the business. It used qualitative research method and it collected data from family business owners.
